How to Contribute
- Search for any of the 68,888 US aviation fixes by name, state, or region. By default only documented fixes are shown — uncheck "Documented Only" to browse all fixes.
- Click a fix to expand it and read existing etymology entries, then submit your own explanation.
- Include a source with your submission: FAA charts, AIP publications, ATC knowledge, historical records, aviation forums, etc.
- Vote ▲ up entries that are accurate and well-sourced; vote ▼ down entries that seem incorrect. Use the ⚑ flag to dispute an entry — you can vote OR flag, not both.
- Know which arrival or departure procedure a fix belongs to? Use the ✈ Add Procedure dropdown on any fix card. Procedure pills link directly to the FAA chart PDF.
- Entries reaching 5 upvotes auto-promote to ◈ Community Consensus. Flagged entries show a ⚠ disputed warning regardless of vote count.
